Carlos was Young Composer-In-Residence at Casa da Música in Porto during 2021, where his commissioned pieces were premiered by the Porto Symphony Orchestra and Remix Ensemble, conducted by Peter Rundel. In Germany, he had the opportunity to write for and collaborate with the musicians of Ensemble Musikfabrik.

In 2025, he was awarded the 1st "SPA/Antena 2 Composition Prize" for his orchestral piece Rasgos de Luz.

During the same year, he made his debut as a conductor with the Beiras Philharmonic Orchestra, as part of the 5th edition of the RMC Festival in Aveiro.

Carlos studied composition with Miroslav Srnka at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne and is currently completing a master’s degree in New Music Conducting with Susanne Blumenthal at the same institution, where he frequently conducts the ColLAB Cologne ensemble and assists in new music related projects.
